Christmas has come and gone. Gifts were given and fun was had by all. My greatest joy this season? Seeing the expressions on the faces of my Aunts when I presented them with their hand knitted gifts. I only hoped they wouldn’t toss it in a corner, but their responses were priceless.
I bought a book titled Knit Ponchos, Wraps & Scarves last year and picked out which scarves I would make for gifts. The problem was everything looked gorgeous. The yarns used were exquisite and on a different level than the Red Heart yarn I was used to using. But, in order to work your way up the yarn chain, you have have to buy that first skein.
I spent the year trying out new patterns and learning new stitches. Some projects were a bit tougher than others and took a while longer for me to wrap my brain around. I had so much trouble reading one of the patterns that it took 2-3 months to complete (last track of time with that one). Another I was able to knit in 5 hours. 5 hours! I was amazed that I could anything that quickly.
So, let me tell you what I made, who it was made for and how I got through it.
