My Front Yard Makeover

by Clesha on August 16, 2010

Do you ever feel like you’re being over run by stuff? Stuff at work, stuff at home, stuff outside? Well, that’s exactly where I was not to long ago. There is so much I need to do and there just never seems to be enough hours in the day. One day, coming in from work, I looked at our front yard and sighed. It looked a mess. Overgrown, wild and patchy.

Ugly right? Not a good look for the front of your house. With so much on my to-do list, one day I decided to do just this one thing. Dig up and make over the front yard.

Of course, a project like this is not something I can do alone. I mean, I can water a plant, but dig up a yard and garden. Ah, not in my repertoire. So, I did what any other person in my position would do. I picked up the phone and called someone who knew how to do it. And, I got the best person for the job. Andre.
Andre is a student at W. B. Saul High School, and landscaping is what he’s studying (told you I found the right person). To help him was his brother Charles Jr. and his dad, Charles Sr.

The first order of business was to have him come over and check out the yard. He next mapped out a landscaping plan and recommended what perennials would work best in shade of my Japanese Maple tree (he had to ID that one for me). It would take three weekends to complete and, I was assured, I wouldn’t have to take out a loan to get it all done.

First up, digging up the pine bushes.
