Gratitude: 5 Reason To Be Grateful

by Clesha on March 6, 2009

Yesterday was a very challenging day for me.  Mentally, emotionally & physically.  By the time I got home, my headache was going on it’s 4th hour and I was completely depleted.  I thought exercise & reading would help, but I only managed 23 minutes on the bike and 1 chapter in the book.

When reflecting on the day, it made me even more weary.  I decided to lay back, close my eyes and relax.  Instead of dwelling on the events of the day that brought stress and turmoil, I decided to exhale and think of all the good things that happened in my day.

For these things I am grateful.

  1. God, for being ever present in my life.  For loving me, giving me direction, purpose and peace.
  2. A great cousin like Kam-Marie who is always willing to listen to me and help me see God in midst of it all.
  3. A great friend like Monique who tells me the things I need to hear, even if I don’t want to hear it at the time.  Who gives me pearls of wisdom and also helps me work through my confusion by letting me get everything out.
  4. The good friends I have made here at the seminary.  It’s always such a joy when they make surprise visits back and stop by to see me.  It was so good to see you yesterday Brian!  You definitely helped bring out the sun.
  5. A kitty who is so excited to see when I step one foot in the door, that she runs in and out of my legs as I walk.  Sure, it’s annoying and makes me trip over her daily, but I love it.

These are a few things I am grateful for.  What about you?  What 5 things in your life are you grateful for right now?
