Happy New Year! Happy New Beginnings! Happy New You!
The ball has dropped. The confetti has been thrown. Another year has come and gone. January 1 is the starting point to take another step toward getting it right. As the clock struck 12:01, I made the same resolution I have made the past 3 years. To make no resolutions. Just do what you know you need to do and make it count. After some thought, I decided to breakaway from my new tradition and make one goal for this new beginning. Be kinder and more patient. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but it’s a HUGE deal for me. This year I plan to work toward being a more kind and patient Clesha. Who better to start showing this to than me.
So this year, I will not beat myself up for forgetting birthdays, emails responses, not returning phone calls, not writing everyday or any other self-defeating thoughts I may have. No, this year I am going to allow myself the room to grow by trying to be perfectly imperfect. This year I filter out the background noise so I can hear God’s voice above my own. This year I truly walk in my destiny.
Here’s to that first step!
Clesha
