Gentle, soothing yet affirming. Mandarin is one of those essential oils that brings a smile to your face as soon as you inhale the sweet citrusy scent. But, unlike it’s other citrus cousins, Mandarin doesn’t kick the brain into high gear. Instead, it offers up gentle encouragement to remember your child-like innocence and helps you bring out the joy that is within you.
Because of the gentle aroma of Mandarin, it blends well with other citrus essential oils as well as the woody and grounding ones, like Patchouli and Sandalwood. Palmarosa, Roman Chamomile, Rose Otto and Neroli are some of the more floral essential oils that blends well with Mandarin.

It can assist with healing old wounds in your character that have kept you from fully moving forward on your spiritual journey. Ways to use at bedtime
Mandarin essential oil is a nice addition to your nighttime essential oil toolbox to help the mind and body to relax at the end of the day. When your mind is relaxed, your body will follow leaving space for rest to come.
Other ways you can use Mandarin essential oil at bedtime:
- add a few drops to bath water
- add a few drops to a diffuser or humidifier
- make a bedtime massage oil

Sweet Peace Bedtime Blend
- 5 drops Mandarin essential oil
- 2 drops Lavender essential oil
- 2 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil
- 5ml amber bottle to store blend (with orifice reducer if possible)
Add essential oils to the amber bottle and, with the cap firmly in place, gently roll blend between your two hands to blend. While rolling between your hands, say a blessing, prayer, or set an intention for the blend. An hour before going to bed, add this blend to your diffuser and allow it to diffuse in your sleeping area for 30 minutes.
Light Lift Room Freshener
- 6 drops Mandarin essential oil
- 6 drops Grapefruit essential oil
- 6 drops Lemon essential oil
- 2 drop Petitgrain
- 2 oz spray bottle
- 2 oz of distilled water
Add distilled water essential oils to the spray bottle. With the cap firmly in place, gently roll blend between your two hands to blend. While rolling between your hands, say a blessing, prayer, or set an intention for the blend. Use this blend in spaces that could use a Light Lift.
Calm Spirit Massage Oil
- 6 drops Mandarin essential oil
- 6 drops Chamomile essential oil
- 6 drops Neroli essential oil
- 6 drops Sandalwood essential oil
- 2 oz. squeeze bottle
- 2 oz jojoba oil (or your favorite seed oil)
Add jojoba oil and essential oils to bottle. With the cap firmly in place, gently roll blend between your two hands to blend. While rolling between your hands, say a blessing, prayer, or set an intention for the blend. Massage as needed.
