Bergamot Citrus bergamia Essential Oil
As I mentioned in my post about God doing something new in your life, Bergamot essential oil is a great way to provide yourself with aromatic support.
Bergamont essential oil has a nice, sweet-fruity, citrus aroma with a spicy-balsamic undertone. When you’re having to face change and something unfamiliar bergamot essential oil can be a really good companion.
Spiritually, it opens your heart to not only the light that’s all around us and that God has flowed through us, but it opens your heart to peace and joy. It helps to break up the stagnant energy that our soul and spirits hold onto that would keep us from moving forward and doing what it is that we are here to do.
Bergamont also helps when you’re trying to shift those negative thoughts, self-criticism, shame and all of those things that keep you bound. That keeps you from healing.
It encourages you to be able to embrace change with peace and joy. It gives you the confidence and the strength that you’ll need to be able to face the newness on the horizon.
Use this essential oil safely
When you’re using essential oils, we always want to do it safely. So, one word of caution when using Bergamot essential oil. You should not use it on the skin if you’re going to go out into the sunlight. As with all citrus essential oils, Bergamot essential oil is phototoxic so you don’t want to put it on your skin and then go out into the sun because it can create burns or blisters so you want to use extra care when you are using a citrus essential Oil and Bergamot does fall within the citrus family.
Ways you can use this essential oil is simply by diffusing it. There are a lot of different diffusers out on the market now and any one you have handy will do the job. Simply add a few drops to your diffuser and let it diffuse throughout the space.
Ways to use this essential oil
If you don’t have a diffuser you can also use the old school method, or what I call the old school method. And that is taking a heatproof container or a bowl and put in hot water in it where it is steam coming off of it. Put it somewhere safe and out of the way where it won’t be bumped. Add a few drops of Bergamot essential oil to the hot water and let the steam do the rest of the work.
You can also add a drop or two to a cotton ball and place it in a small area like your car, or your desk where you work it will help with concentration it will help with focus. It will also help to lift your spirit while you’re driving or working or any of those things.
So give Bergamont a try and let me know what you think in the comments below. I know I will be diffusing it this month as I begin to shift and change. I’ve been working on quite a few projects to help you grow in your faith while creating a sacred bridge to holistic aromatherapy. I can’t wait to share it all with you as this year unfolds!
